Once again this year, the Cambodian recipe book The Taste of Angkor, produced and published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as part of its culinary diplomacy, was again awarded a prize by the Gourmand Awards for cookbooks, in the categories “best Asian cookbook” and “heads of state/food”, reports the blog evaanmarket (https://evaanmarket.com)
“The recipes in The Taste of Angkor book were developed by Cambodian chef Sao Sopheak. The recipes are dishes that were already acclaimed at the time by Cambodian royalty. It is therefore a centenary of culinary culture that we find in this work, today several times rewarded. The plus of this work? Very easy-to-follow detailed instructions, but also substitutions of Khmer ingredients that can be difficult to find outside of Cambodia, which will delight all people in the diaspora wishing to rediscover the taste of traditional cuisine”, wrote the blog edited by young French people of Asian origin.
Confirel, the leading local producer of authentic Khmer products, can only be delighted with the success of this work and with the culinary diplomacy implemented by the Kingdom’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
